Physician & Health Professional Well-being Description

This course, led by Liana Lianov, MD, MPH, FACLM, FACPM, DipABLM, and funded through the generous support of the Ardmore Institute of Health, was created to describe and apply approaches that support health professionals in achieving and sustaining a total healthy lifestyle, including eating a whole food, plant-based diet, being physically active and engaging in mindfulness and positive psychology activities. The course offers exercises to harness personal strengths and leadership skills for improving workplace culture/systems and to engage in effective, positive health care team and patient interactions. Learners will also conduct a well-being assessment and develop a personal action plan.

Physician & Health Professional Well-being Train-the-Trainer Workshop Package Description

The Physician and Health Professional Well-being Train-the-Trainer workshop package is an accompanying complimentary course component that allow clinicians who have taken the course the opportunity to easily deliver a Physician and Health Professional Wellbeing workshop within their own institutions and organizations. This Train-the-Trainer Workshop Package includes training modules on how to deliver a Physician and Health Professional Wellbeing workshop as well as all of the educational, exercise and workbook materials needed for delivering workshops of various lengths. The aims of the Train-the-Trainer program workshop are: 1) to help health professionals learn ways to maintain and improve their physical and emotional well-being, manage their stress levels, and achieve flourishing and 2) to inspire physicians and health professionals to apply these lessons with their patients. We hope that after taking the course, you feel empowered to not only apply the self-care principals that are outlined within the course, but to also share this valuable information with the clinicians in your organization.

 Learning Objectives
  • Describe and apply approaches that support physicians and other health professionals in achieving and sustaining a comprehensive healthy lifestyle, including eating a whole food, plant-based diet, being physically active and engaging in positive psychology activities.
  • Apply positive psychology activities for emotional well-being and physical health and to support healthy behaviors.
  • Conduct a brief flourishing assessment and develop a personal well-being action plan.
  • Implement at least one strategy for influencing health care workplace culture to support the well-being of health teams.

The course is comprised of 4 modules, a workbook, and consists of 5 hours of content.

    A score of 80% or higher on the module quiz is required to pass the course.

    ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 5.00 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participation completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit 

    AAFP Prescribed Credits: The AAFP has reviewed Physician and Health Professional Well-Being and deemed it acceptable for up to 5.0 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 10/04/2022 to 10/04/2023. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 
     
    ABLM MOC: The American Board of Lifestyle Medicine has approved 5.0 maintenance of certification credit for this learning activity.
